FAQ

  • What should I bring and wear to my first appointment?
If you haven't completed the online intake form, please arrive 10 minutes BEFORE your appointment so you can provide the required information. If you haven't filled out the online intake form, please bring your BC Care Card. If you have extended healthcare, please bring your policy number/ ID number so I can set up direct billing. Please wear or bring comfortable, loose fitting clothing. If you have a lower body issue, shorts are required. If your neck and/or shoulders are your key complaint, please have a tank top with you.
  • Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No referral is required to see a Physiotherapist, however your insurance company may require a note from your doctor.
  • Why are sessions 45 minutes or 60 minutes rather than 20 or 30 minutes?
Bodies are complex - and symptoms are too! A thorough approach requires time and attentive listening. Remember that bodies speak quietly first before they send more intense symptoms, so typically a body has been dysfunctional for quite a while before action is taken. We often need to tackle months or years of compensations the body has been making in addition to the initial issue.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
There is no charge for appointments cancelled with 24 hours of the appointment time. I realize that brains misfire and that life throws curveballs at times however I request that you do your best to be respectful of my time and also remain aware that members of our community are on my waitlist. A late cancellation or missed visit could have been filled by another patient, so I take them seriously. Less than 24 hours notice: Cancellations are subject to a 25% charge of the cost of treatment time booked. Less than 12 hours notice: Cancellations are subject to a 50% charge of the cost of treatment time booked. No Shows are subject to the cost of the FULL amount of treatment time booked. Note that missed appointments cannot be billed through your extended benefits. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
